Mine is "Blow-Up" (1966), directed by Michaelangelo Antonioni.

I first saw it broadcast on a local TV station sometime in 1987, with some language, naughty bits and pot smoking edited out. I'll admit I initially watched it just to see the Yardbirds, but found the plot very intriguing.

I've since seen it many times over, unedited.

In 2000, while in London on assignment at Wimbledon, I made a special trek to Maryon Park to see the spots where Hemmings, Redgrave and the mimes were filmed. It was a great experience, and I'm pretty darn proud that I managed to find the park, take a bunch of photos and hustle back to Wimbledon on-time for the women's semifinal.

Of current films, "Mr Holmes" is splendid. Well written script, superb cast, believable characters. Not one word or action too many.

A more serious film that I never tire of is "Twelve Angry Men". What a cast. Such camera work. Gripping script.

I'm frankly not a film fan in general but if by favorite this means most viewed, my two top films would be A Christmas Story and Mr. Hulot's Holiday. I watch each of these yearly, the former unintentionally, the latter at the beginning of each summer.
