Post subject:  50's American Style: two short films.

Here are a couple of wonderful short films captured and now on Youtube.

The first is "Social Class in America" from 1957 and McGraw-Hill, the kings of filmstrips and "educational" presentations. Great fashion shots, incredibly, madly silly narrative and cautionary tales, including how Ivy League guys wear bow ties and are preferable to lower sorts. Also, the higher your rise, the higher you rise:

The second is from 1958, a classic Populuxe production sponsored by Chevrolet, it celebrates the Eternal American Goodness. Many interior and architectural shots, including the styles of the "average American family":
