Excellent. We have a number of folks within driving distance. Might be a great excuse for a meetup. Of course, there's always Buddy's. ;)
Buddy's? In Richmond? Hanover or thereabouts? I used to hang out there, ca. 1990-91. High degree of pulchritude in the waitresses.

Buddy's in Richmond. Duck is (was?) a regular. One of these days, I'd like to meet him there and buy him a few rounds. Last time I saw Duck was in Williamsburg a couple of years ago. We bumped into each other with our wives at the Grand Illumination at Christmas. That was BK, however (Before Kids). I imagine he spends a lot less time at Buddy's these days. ;)

The other place was the Village Cafe on W. Cary down in VCU country. Long walk from Hanover and N Robinson where I lived, though. No car in those days. Very Bohemian.

Haha. I'm looking forward to it, I'll be at the Shad Planking on Wednesday as well.

OK...I have to buy tickets now, and I'm working on a limo full of bourbon lovers who have no intention of driving home themselves. Any of y'all definitely going? Duck...? Let me know so we can meet up.

Sounds like fun, but a few hours out of range for me. Plus, seems kinda' odd to do something like that on a Wednesday.

Anyway, enjoy yourself,

Scott

Fortunately, it's my usual day off. However, I agree...would prefer a Saturday.

Went to the event yesterday. Excellent weather. Had a great time, even though I didn't win anything in the raffle.

It was good seeing Duck again, too. :)

The only photo I have from this year's event. Didn't get one with Duck in it.

I'm on the far left. I went with a bunch of folks from my wife's office. She rented us a limo so nobody had to drive home. Good times! ;)

LLB chambray shirt, ancient PRL Philip pants, crab logo ball cap from Jimmie & Sook in Irvington, VA, Sid Mashburn oyster shell belt buckle, Bean gumshoes, Buck 110 on the belt.

A few pics from this year's event. Sorry none of y'all could make it!

It was a beautiful day.

Image

A few of the guys who went. They all work at my wife's bank. I'm on the far left.

Image

Live music, of course!

It's traditional to bring your own knife to cut your steak. If nothing else, I am traditional. ;)

Image

The raffle was for a Remington 870 shotgun and a Marlin rifle. I didn't win. :(

Image

My wife had a limo take us to (and, more importantly, home from) the event. Here I am with our driver. We bought him a ticket, too, but he had to stick to soda.

^ Topsider -- on a tangent -- I really like your glasses. I remember when you were trying to make the decision. I think they're a great choice for you.

Thanks. Those are my old ones...the ones I was thinking about replacing.
