I love Neco and the Velvet Underground. I need to check that out Patrick.

Right now I am surfing the 'net and listening to the Zombies. Man, they have so much good stuff.

Pachelbel's Canon in D, with all of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos queued up behind Pachelbel.

I really like your taste in music Patrick.

Lately I've been listening to Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints.

Thrifted a cheap, halfway decent Technics record player the other day. Until a recently I'd been using my dad's old setup and borrowing from his record collection.

Went out looking for LPs yesterday, found some Chick Corea/Return to Forever, Emmylou Harris, and a handful of comedy records.

Been spinning a lot of Dawes lately, band out of LA. Mid-70s era Jackson Browne vibe to the tracks. Album title is "Nothing is Wrong."

Father John Misty's (aka J. Tillman) "Fear Fun". He's the former drummer of Fleet Foxes. "Only Son of the Ladiesman" is the standout track on the album but taken in it's entirety, it's one big weird gem. "Fun Times in Babylon" also opens the album in an unsettling way.

If you like Wire, The Modern Lovers, The Feelies and the two guitar-bass-drum thing, you'll probably like the Parquet Courts' "Light Up Gold."

A lot of Costello's 80s albums were great, particularly "King of Hollywood" and "Imperial Bedroom." Some amazing arrangements from one of my favorite songwriters.

What do you mean by Laurel Canyon sound? I'm somewhat familiar with the area.
