Do any of our southern members subscribe this magazine?

Gun & Garden

I found this interesting article they published on men's accessories:

I'm a subscriber since issue number one--looked into it when someone mentioned it on AAAC. Fantastic magazine. I like the last belt they show in that article, the one from Duluth Trading Co. I need a good leather jeans belt.

I am also a subscriber. I did not receive the new one yet, a little further north than Ga.

One of my favorite articles was the interview with Davis Love III.

Yes, I subscribe. Wonderful magazine.

Duck, the piece on DLIII was very good and I have a newfound appreciation for him.

I've been a subscriber from Vol I Issue I, and I got the first few issues free. There I was at the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston waiting for my family to finish doing something, and I noticed two winsome young ladies standing at a booth all alone. "I think I'll go see what they're promoting", sez me to myself. They were the Garden and Gun reps, and they offererd me the first few issues of this soon-to-be-relased magazine free just by filling out a card.

I have to admit I didn't like the layout at first, and I think they have some distance to go on the hunting front (that article on South America dove shooting was abysmal) but the literary and style stuff is quite good.

I also subscribe. Its a mixed bag - some good, some not. I find I read about half of the mag - enough to make me renew. Sometimes the luxuurry/goormaay/hifalutin' focus seems a bit over the top and nouveau riche (reminds me of Cigar Aficionado).

Nice avatar, Speas.

Moderators, is this board Southern-centric by design, or did it just work out that way?

Not intentional, we sort of fell into it.

Scott,

By accident, I edited your post instead of quoting it. Please re-edit with your original text.

My apologies. Navigating this site on a Blackberry is definitely a disadvantage.

I think I said something like "Thanks, Duck, that's interesting". No big deal at all, J.

I love that we have so many Southern members but I don't think location was factor in who was invited. We are inviting people that we think "get it". There are many above the Mason Dixon Line that I would like to have as members.

I was thinking that myself! We'll - here's at least one Northerner (as a Red Sox fan, I'd never use the term "Yank**").

I feel honored to have made the cut!

My wife gets Garden & Gun. I think I enjoy reading it more than she does. ;)

I presently reside in Yankeeland if that counts (ok ok, I'll admit its New Jersey - I justify it by thinking of myself as a reverse carpetbagger - good pizza too)

Yep, the more the merrier, I say. With the gettin' it prerequisite, of course.
