The missing category here!

I mostly enjoy sports on TV. However, my favorite shows are:

The Office - getting close to shark-jumping time
The Shield - this too in its last season is losing some of the spark that made it so great.
Survivor - Even though the show is basically the same each time, it always draws me in each new season.

I started DVR'ing and watching the new FX series Sons of Anarchy - not bad - but a pretty obvious Sopranos on wheels. The lead character, Charlie Hunnam is likeable. Katey Sagal is a good casting as the controlling mother figure. We'll see how it plays out this year.

I love watching old 70s - 80s crime dramas with my favorites being:

Streets of San Francisco, Hawaii Five-O, Rockford Files, Magnum PI, Cannon, Ironsides, et al

hon. mention: Barnaby Jones.

How about yous guys?

I used to enjoy Scrubs and The Office. They're not as good as they used to be, however.

Lately, I've gotten into Mad Men. My wife is hooked on Swingtown...should I be concerned?

Oh, and then there's Three Sheets, on Mojo. But, let's just keep that between ourselves. ;)

If we're talking about what's currently on, precious little.

I like the Law & Orders with Vincent D'Onofrio.

A & E's The First 48.

Various cable shouters, for about 10 minutes at a clip.

The New York Mets.

Pro football, if the weather is lousy, and with the sound off.

The Shield, only because I want to find out what happens to these dreadful people.

The only show currently on that I watch is Lost. Got into it by mistake (accidentally requested it on Netflix) and haven't been able to pull myself away. Besides that, there's whatever MLB games are on the local channels, with an occasional college football or NFL game.

As for old shows that we watch on DVD, there's M*A*S*H* (my wife is a fan and converted me), Seinfeld, Cosby Show, and I Love Lucy. That's about it, really.

Naval Wife likes crime shows, and I can usually suffer through the occasional CSI or NCIS. I try to watch the local news for the weather report, etc. But the one and only show on TV that really revs my motor is...

The New Yankee Workshop.

Scott

I used to watch The Andy Griffith Show, but I memorized every edisode up until they went color.

I used to really like Scrubs, but it is not as funny as it used to be.
Lost, Mad Men and The Office are my favorite shows. Lost is both fascinating and frustrating to me.

Roslyn, WA or should I say Cicely, AK? Northern Exposure was one of my favorite shows.

You know, my boys (ages 14 and 16) LOVE that show. That and Bizarre Foods. We end up watching the Travel Channel way more than network TV.

The guy is funny and he loves food. Bourdain is a great writer, have they read any of his books?

Andrew Zimmern is an interesting guy, a little fruity, but not that bad of a show.

^I'll check out Bourdain's books. Anything to get those boys to read more.

Perhaps not the ideal role model for teenagers, however. You may want to check out 'Kitchen Confidential' yourself first. Bourdain is a former but unapologetic heroin addict. Famous for the story of how he got interested in cooking: He was working as a busboy in a restaurant that was holding a wedding reception and he discovered the bride, still in her wedding dress, screwing the chef out back in the parking lot. Thought, "this is the life for me."

Ahem.

I agree with many of the shows posted here: The Office and Scrubs. I'm also a big fan of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I also like most anything on the History Channel, and that's usually what's on in the background when I'm doing homework etc.

However, my newest obsession is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." I would not recommend it for everyone, as it is a very specific type of humor. Often very off-color too. However, I can't get enough of it. It is quite similar to "Arrested Development," but more so. Most of the episodes are on Hulu if anyone is interested.
