Cards, for a truly whacky exploration of the uncanny, and a contiouous lol, may I suggest North Gladiola by James Wilcox, a Louisiana writer, and probably the drollest person alive.

I like the moments in the Pinky movies when the girls go into this crouch and state theor histories before they brawl. The uncouth yakuza have no such discipline.
