This is the kind of thing I wear most of the time. As I suspect is true of all of us. O'Connell's sweater and trousers, Mercer shirt, Alden whiskey shell LHS, Chrysalis field coat.

My newspaper had the annual party last night. (It's easier -- and considerably cheaper -- to do it in March than before Xmas.)

I didn't bring my hand computer or a camera to preserve the timeless moments, but I counted four sack jackets besides mine, and the truly pleasant thing about that is two were on younger guys who both asked me, some years back, how to go about finding decent stuff on the cheap.

So I'm changing my handle here to Johnny Sackseed.

On second thought, let's leave it.

That's a wonderful vignette, Patrick. You're truly an inspiration to a wide variety of guys!

Sartre, that looks wonderful.

May I ask you for a wider shot of that excellent Donegal Mist? Is it olive (but appears much deeper) or is it, as I suspect, a darker green?

^ Boy, that's a toughie. It's a difficult color to pin down. Like all of these Donegal Mists there's a half dozen colors running through it. The color of this particular jacket seems to be especially dependent on the lighting. I tried 15-20 times to capture the thing with my very basic phone camera and could not do it. I would call it a dark olive, but tending much more toward green than toward brown or tan. I think that's what you are seeing.

I first saw the jacket on the Press website and did not care for it. I later saw it in the store and fell in love with it.

The pic below does a decent job at showing the various colors (I especially like the blue tones); although, again, it makes the main color appear more olive than green to my eye.

Thanks for the additional images, Sartre. Whatever color it might be called, it's great.

You are a wonderful exemplar, Topsider! I believe the only person I've ever convinced to wear the Ivy League Look is my youngest Son.

Actually, I was quoting Patrick. I only read newspapers. :D

I also find it confusing that the forum leaves out the name of the original poster when you use the quote feature. I wonder if Jordan can fix it?
