A friend of mine used to deal vintage clothes, and he'd go on rants about how rare white labeled Gant shirts are because the company bought them all up to copy for the Rugger line. I was very pleased to track down a second white labeled Gant popover in my size, and it's always madras season in FL:

Earlier today we went to Paris Optique at the Scottsdale Quarter in Scottsdale AZ to pick up my friend's new glasses. (We also had lunch there and looked around in several other stores.) It was around 103F in Scottsdale today.

Brooks Brothers blue blazer, blue PPBD shirt, pocket square, and blue and red surcingle belt, Lands' End heraldic tie, Polo Ralph Lauren Madras trousers (with an Ivy League style buckle on back), and Allen-Edmonds white suede Nomads.

This is from three or four years ago. I was feeling lousy and I discovered why -- I had been bitten by a tick and had some Lyme disease going on. After three extremely unpleasant weeks of massive doses of antibiotics, I returned to more or less normal. This was taken somewhere in the middle of that period.

^ These are alway my favorite shots. You have items from some of the finest retailers around and I enjoy seeing all the vintage labels. And of course, you put together a mean outfit, but everybody already knows that.

Several years ago, Orvis had a number of patchwork Madras shirts in Fall colors (such as the one above). They don't have any in their current online offerings, but maybe they'll be back this fall. I purchased three different Fall-pattern Madras short-sleeved shirts then, as I thought the colors extended the wearability season for Madras.

(Obligatory Tri-Color Collie in picture)
