In the mid-80s there was a rock group in Boston called "The Band That Time Forgot." They played psychedelia and wore Sgt. Pepper costumes.

The blue and white one would have been perfect for them.

I was chatting with a woman I know and it turned out we were both in the Allston-Brighton area of the city at the same time. When I mentioned The Band That Time Forgot she said "I was the girl dancing in the cage."

Alas, she is married. If I'd only had the Lands End coat at the time...

I just got a Lands End men's catalog. There's a big ol' thick-looking sportcoat ("hacking jacket") that looks interesting. If it's anything like previous entries, the shoulders will be on the wide side.

I like the look of that hacking jacket. Too bad it's darted. I'd still entertain the jacket, after it goes on sale.

I received the LE fall catalog as well, but couldn't make it past the disconcerting cover: http://s7.landsend.com/s7viewers/html5/ ... S_eCatalog

Grab your must-iron OCBDs before they become extinct!

It seems they're dropping one staple after another, I'm still ticked they did away w/ custom hemmed/cuffed chinos.
