Ye Editor gave me some treasures from her ex-husband's stuff, including Red Smith's New York Times coffee mug and this GQ "Campus and Career Annual" vol. 1 no. 1 featuring Bill Bradley.

I shot it as best I could without destroying the magazine's spine.

Ah, Bill. With the storm we're having in D.C. this weekend, I got to thinking about the winter storm in '96 that ripped through New Jersey. I was 14 and Mr. Bradley was in his last year in office. Bradley decided he wouldn't seek a fourth term, saying that the political system was broken.

"Neither political party speaks to people where they live their lives," said Mr. Bradley, who was almost defeated in 1990 and faced another tough fight next year. "Both have moved away from my own concept of service and my own idea of what America can be." - NYT Aug. 16 1995
