I'm not sure the degree of privacy that you all would like to have here, but I have blocked public reading of the board.

Let me know what you all think about this. It can be changed back in a jiffy.

I dont think it works properly. I could view the same with and without logging in. Plus the forum categories are now gone for me even when logged in. (Also, my log in seems to die regularly and sometimes it shows me in the forum category two times)

Not only can I not find the forum categories, I'm getting this message "FireBoard needs to (re)establish your access privileges before it can create a list of the latest posts for you.\nDo not worry, this is quite normal after more than 30 minutes of inactivity or after logging back in.\nPlease submit your search request again."

Speas,

I'm sorry about this. I am away from home right now (posting from my Blackberry). Sit tight tonight and I will reverse this first thing in the morning.

Seems to be working properly now. I couldn't see anything until I logged in, and then it was all available. I kinda' like the privacy. I can do without the Talk Ivy critique.

I might even show my face if the private policy becomes permanent.

Scott

Edit - Sorry, that last part about showing my face sounds like some kind of threat. I
withdraw it.

Edit edit - oops not working now. Can only see "recent posts".

Speas,

Are you still having problems?

I'm having trouble as well. When I logged on earlier this morning everything was fine, but as I got on just now only the most recent topics were shown, no subforum links.

I'm indifferent regarding blocking the public from reading.

Interesting question. Is this a private club by invite or application only or is it an open forum....

I can't say it would bother me either way, but I lean to keeping it open.

If you build walls, some folks take it as a challenge to get over just for laughs.

If you leave it open, those not interested will not bother after a while - "bigger fish to fry" and you can more easily draw new like-minded members.

I'm sorry for everyone having trouble.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to reverse this until I get home this afternoon.

I don't mind it, but I'd like it better if the "remember me" feature worked better. I am cookie enabled, but the site doesn't want to remember me. I have to log in just to see what you guys are saying.

Hi Jordan -

Thanks for all your work and effort. I too am having issues seeing the full forum menu when I login. All I am able to see is the most recent posts.

Cheers.

I had that issue as well. I found that when I logged in from the forum page, rather than the home page, the site remembered me on my next visit.

I'm having the same problem, for what it's worth. I tried logging off and back on again, but it didn't help.

Is it blocking anyone else out right now?
