I'm on my way back to Atlanta tomorrow after a week in Kassel, Germany attending an industry conference. Spent some free time at a large park to the west of town, Bergpark Wilhelmshohe.

Thanks guys - the fishing was good, Ben, but below expectations on Armstrong's spring creek, a place I think about a lot, where a good year produces 10 or more big trout a day. It's full of big, wary fish that can only, sometimes, be fooled (by me) by tiny nymphs tied on as droppers from small pmd drys using 7x tippet, i.e., very exacting fishing, requiring a perfect drift. Over the years I have learned the technique, and my expectations were high. Got only a couple, three fish a day, disappointing. Never figured it out.(not that I'm complaining). Elsewhere, though, fishing was excellent. At this time of year the meadows are full of hoppers, and when plopped up close to the banks they produce incredible explosions from big fish, cuts, browns, bows. All in all, I guess I'd have to say the fishing was actually very good.

Sounds good Rambler, but I know what you mean about a particular fishery not producing as well as expected. I love the tiny nymph style, but it can be frustrating!! Hoppers are always fun. My season closes Sept. 30, so I had better get out there at least a few more times.

Spent the past weekend at the Homestead in Hot Springs, VA. Had an early snowfall while we were there...very pretty. Here are some artsy-fartsy photos taken with the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.
