I guess this counts as "leisure." I dearly love studying in the sun on my back porch but now that the weather's warmed up mosquitos have started hatching from the little stream flowing not far away. Anyone have a recommendation on a candle or something that'll let me continue to enjoy the sun and pleasant weather without being eaten alive?

Smoke. Seriously

Also, the super-concentrated DEET sprays work pretty well, provided there is not a horde of the little pests, and you don't mind wearing the stuff. Everyone's tolerance differs, so it's tough to say. Candles are generally ineffective. They used to make these incense-like coil things, though they probably don't anymore for toxicity reasons.
