Reuben, sorry to hear about the loss of grandmother, but I agree that she would like to hear that her plants live on in new places.

It’s azalea season here. The dogwoods came and went so quickly I never got a picture. How is Spring coming along where you live?

Reuben - Sorry for your loss. I am happy to hear about the care that you took of her garden.

Naval Gent - Very nice! I can't wait to get back out on my porch. I will definitely post pictures.

And her namesake rose, the Miss Oline, has started blooming:

Scott, Deleware Valley White Azaleas? Very nice.

Here, now, is the first bud break, with Salix, Cornus alternifolia, Syringa vulgaris leafing out.

As for flowering: Amelanchier, Narcissus, Rhodo mucronulatum, Cornus mas, Magnolia stellata & soulangeana, Forsythia, Acer rubrum, Vinca minor.....

Still working on the porch, but it has served me well this summer. This picture shows the two sitting areas.

^ Great porch, OCBD. You have made a vibe like Charleston, or even Key West.

Nice for a staycation.

One of the last blooms of the season in North Carolina from my late grandmother's roses, on her birthday:

Great stuff in this thread, here's my current project:

Image

We moved to a new place recently, and no one had bothered with the gardens in a few years in either the front or the back. Here's the front garden after some extensive weeding, pruning, new planting, and mulch spreading. A few of the new plants are from my dad, taken from larger plants that are 20+ years old.

Quite a dramatic garden, LC. I'm sure it's a traffic stopper as folks walk by!

Thanks, Bill! Yeah I've gotten some nice comments from passersby while I work on it.
