Went to the Porsche Exhibit today at the North Carolina Museum of Art. First rate presentation of 22 rare and historic examples of Porsche automobiles. Race cars are very loosely connected to TNSIL apparel, but Steve McQueen is a connection between the two:

While I am no longer a car guy, I once was. All three of my boys are car guys. One Honda S2000, one Mazda Miata, and one classic 1994 BMW 325i. All convertibles. I think it's a genetic defect/

Here is my favorite Porsche, the 1985 911 Carrera Targa. Sadly, it is not mine, but happily, it is my good friend's and I have been given very generous driving privileges.

This is the last of the hand-builts. The 3.2 is an engine (THE engine?) from heaven.

Here she is with the duck tail fitted. He also has a whale tail, but the "turbo look" is not strictly correct for the car, and adds another 40lbs or so, and the duck tail looks cleaner, not meaner.

I wish I had an image of me driving-while-trad, but I do not as of yet. I will work on that. The image of my Beyond Clothing bespoke soft shell betrays my use of technical outerwear. Mea culpa.

My three Sons and I spent last weekend in Las Vegas. No gambling for us! We were there for Racing Exotic Cars on a 1.6 mile private track and also for practicing target shooting with 40 caliber handguns, submachine guns, shotguns, semi-automatic rifles and grenade launchers. It was an amazing weekend.

I shot with the guys, but didn't race. Last time we drove a bunch of exotics at speed was in Texas about six years ago. I drove then... but at age 75, I would have been more menace than master on the track.

All the guys, hit over 100 MPH on the straights, with the two younger guys duking it out in the 135-140 MPH range.
