Depart Sat am (weather permitting) for a week in Costa Rica, courtesy of my Ma, along with SWMBO, my sister's little family, both my kids, and the old lady. A much anticipated trip. Merry Christmas to all my forum friends!

Same to you Rambler, hope you have a great trip.

I am off to Chicago for a funeral on the 26th (also my birthday), returning the 29th, then depart for Chile Jan 4th-14th.

Safe travels to all.

Oh yes. Two actually. Well, three cuz you need a backup. One is a new St Croix 7 wt - I test drove a number of 7wt, and remain very loyal to this Wisconsin maker. Lots of rod for the price, and warranty to boot.

And what about you?? Aren't there bonefish on the rica coast?

Thank you Uncle! Been all around the world, but Chicago? Not yet.

Any recommendations? We are in and out, really only 1 day free and maybe less. There is some sort of botanical garden I was thinking about..

Dang. I'm driving to NoVa tomorrow. The high point of this trip will be looking for a Wal-Mart with the Harris tweeds.

(Stumbles off, muttering) "Stupid Chile...bonefishing...sun...Board of Selectmen...code of ethics...administrative contracts...stupid professional basketball..."

Office Christmas party tonight (at our place), then various family Christmas GTGs for the next three days. The family stuff would likely be more fun if everyone was on speaking terms.

Heading to St. Croix this weekend to spend the New Year's with another couple. Rented a beach house about 30 ft from the water. Since we had a white Christmas in Dallas this year, I'm looking forward to the change.

Hope everyone in the midwest and mid-Atlantic is doing okay with the storm. Sounds like your weekend plans have already been made for you. But as for me here in Dallas . . .

Friday: Grilling fish, enjoying the early spring weather. Nice French Chablis.

Saturday: Smoking turkey and sausage, few friends over to catch up, still enjoying 70 degree weather. Maybe a nice IPA or two.

Sunday: Mass in the am. Beginning the Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer switchover with the wardrobe. Will be mid-70s by next week. Can't believe winter went by so quickly.

The ongoing battle to de-clutter and tidy the house in preparation for an eventual sale will dominate the bulk of our weekend (yes...we want to move and get a new house). The lawn service has sworn to me we'll be the first stop on Saturday morning so I can move everything off the patio before I power-wash. Oh, the joys of home ownership. Thankfully cocktails will be served Saturday evening. :D
