Thanks for the good idea. My sis wants to go to an exhibit at the Hirshhorn, but didn't way which one. I've been to the NPG before when I had a conference at the Hotel Monaco across the street. It was great and we should do it again.

Early post but what the hell. Running in 1/2 marathon this Saturday. Lunch with in-laws on Sunday. Some beers in between.

Saturday we're off to Naples, FL for a conference. Weather is expected to be very nice. Kinda hard to revel in it though, with the hardships being handled up North.

Cold front moving in. Hoping for some blustery weather so I can rustle up some mallards and woodies off the irrigation ditches this weekend. Otherwise, the duck stamp and conservancy district gate key fee have just been a donation.

^God luck!

Shoveling heavy snow, and learning to sew (operate a machine). Possible damage report later... trying to do cuffs.

Scared up 4 or 5 ducks, but no good shots. Also 3 blue herons. Content with the resulting 2 hour walk, though. Better than working.

Too bad about the ducks, but it does sound better than work. I do not think you're supposed to shoot herons

No damage. In fact, I would say it's pretty good for a rookie:

You're right, I don't think we have heron season here. We do have sandhill crane draws, though. Ribeye in the sky.

Really? Never heard of that. I went out to this place in Wisconsin and saw sandhills fly in by the hundreds at dusk. Maybe 2 thousand birds total- amazing.

It's really good, especially smoked. Drives the cats crazy, too. They've never imagined a bird that big!

Friday: holiday dinner with wife and mother at Stephan Pyles.
Saturday: boring errands while wife and mother are at the spa.
Sunday: Mass then long run afterwards.
X-Mas Eve: entertaining my bachelor next door neighbor with light dinner and gift exchange with the wife.
X-Mas Day: in-laws out in the exurbs. Looking forward to New Year's in St. Croix, sand and sun.

Merry Christmas,

Stephen
