Sounds nice Cecil.
Went to the classic car show today, "back to the 50's". Here are a few shots of some favorites.

Can't remember what they all are, and it's sometimes hard to get a good photo, but I thought some of you might like em. Uncle F's ride, with the prerequisite random dude lookin' on :D

Is the matte paint job period-authentic? Just curious. I usually see 'em shiny.

Sorry, no idea on either question. I was taught about 1000 bits of information yesterday, but only a few things stuck...

Yes, could be... there is also a "brother" to the impala, called a bel-aire I think?? Or maybe biscayne? That might be it too... like I said- lots of info yesterday, most of it completely foreign to me, but good fun nonetheless. I could see how a person could get real into that world of restoration, cruising + customizing.

Heading to New Orleans on Saturday. Will try to post pics as time permits.
Saturday: arrival. Lunch at Napoleon House. Quarter muff with Pimms Cup a must. Reservations at Commander's Palace for supper.
Sunday: Mass at St. Louis Cathedral. Jazz brunch at Mr. B's. Afternoon sightseeing. . . maybe a few bars.
Staying through Wed. I think we have Monday dinner plans at Arnaud's, which is one of my favorites. Rest of the plans are on the fly.

You named three of our favorites, only because we haven't been to Mr. B's yet. We were warned by an aquaintence here not to mistake MRB (Mississippi River Bottom) with Mr. B's, as she did. She went to MRB and couldn't understand why everyone recommended it to her!
Have fun. We're green with envy.

Will try to have a little fun. Thanks for the MRB notice, and I will let you know of any new developments. We're doing Commander's Palace Saturday night and Mr. B's Sunday afternoon. I'm sure the timing makes sense. . .

Though technically not the weekend, here's my 4th of July view. Monte Sano mountain in North Alabama.

Off tomorrow early to Colorado Springs, bro-in-law's 50th anniversary party. My kids will be attending, which is a big deal for me: hard to get everyone together. A couple of days in the Springs (a place I do not care for), then off to a rented cabin in the mountains, fishing, hiking, riding, maybe a little family Monopoly after dinner, a few games of whiffle ball, things like that. Not far from a broken-down hippie hot springs I know of, full of broken down hippies. Should be a wonderful week
